It's been way too long since I updated this blog. It would be easy to say that it was because I was so busy and I definitely was busy during last semester, but I've not had a good excuse for the past month or so since the fall semester ended. I just got out of the habit. Now that spring semester has begun, I guess it is time to start back up again and let you know how things are going.
Last semester ended well in all of my classes. The hardest was Elementary Greek and I think I worked harder in that class than I have ever worked at anything. I ended up with a B and was very happy with it! I got A's in my other classes which were Hermeneutics and Systematic Theology 2. Most "normal" classes require a lot of work, but as long as you get everything completed and give it your best you will make and A. Greek is different and it takes a lot of effort throughout the semester to keep on top of everything. I found out from Pastor Adam about 3/4 of the way through Greek that we were completing in one semester what he had done in 2 semesters, so it was a lot of learning stuffed into one semester.
This semester I have my second course in Greek (Greek Syntax and Exegesis), Introduction to the New Testament, and Christian Philosophy. I am taking Christian Philosophy with my son-in-law Brandon Leach, so that should be fun. My New Testament professor is Mark Seifrid whom I was involved with in the Navigator ministry you may have heard me talk about at the University of Illinois from 1974-1978. He and his wife Janice, were friends of mine way back in the day and it was such a surprise to find out that they were part of the faculty here at Southern. It's a small world.
I am going to keep this short as I know most don't want to read a long post, but I will try to be more consistent in my postings so look for another post soon!
Rob
