I hope to write this blog, first to let people what is going on in our lives, but to also be somewhat of a chronicle of my experiences at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. That sounds so formal. Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Formal, like I fear most peoples concept of what Seminary life must be like. Stuffy, stiff, books, head knowledge, cold hearts, and Christians who are isolated from the world and reality. Obviously, I do not believe that is true, or I would not have chosen Southern as a place to attend. My purpose is not to defend seminaries, but just to give an account of my experiences at one of them. Along the way I hope to share some of what I am learning, not long theological concepts, but just simple things like, did you know that Christians met in their homes for worship until the 3rd or 4th century? It wasn't until then that Rome recognized Christianity as a religion (and persecution of Christians lessened) and church buildings were constructed. Interesting. More next time!
Looking forward to sharing your new adventure!
